Barcelona in Three Acts

Catalonia’s declaration of independence is a good excuse to tell you about what happened when we visited Barcelona. Though it’s been a while and the telling of our adventure will start going back and forth chronologically, might as well get “back into action” by sharing our experience in those… interesting times. Photo Intensive Budapest

Budapest turned out to be a major highlight of our trip so far. We spent nine crazy days in there, half the time looking for a new place to stay and moving there in the middle of the night. Still, the vibe of the place didn’t allow us much rest as we fell in love with the city’s architecture, happenings and efficient public transportation. 😀

Armed with our camera, we went out exploring every day. This post is the photo intensive result of that. So less talk, more pictures. Here we go… Continue reading “Photo Intensive Budapest”

Pictures from Maramureș

We met Marius and Oana, his wife, in their cluj home and shortly after we began the long 128km drive to Maramureș. Doesn’t sound long right? But with the condition of Romanian roads and the rough terrain of the county, it takes about 3 hours. 5+ Things to do in Cluj-Napoca

Previously you found us jumping from one place to another like crazy. Cancelled plans and bad luck left us with very little time to rest and just be, so we looked forward to the quiet week and a half of kitty-sitting that we expected to find in Cluj. Continue reading “5+ Things to do in Cluj-Napoca”

The Hunt for the Best Papanași in Cluj

One of the things that excite us about experiencing a new country is trying the local food. We heard of this one back in Bucharest, but somehow only now in Cluj we decided to check it. Papanași (pronounced Papanash), is a traditional dessert from Romania. These are donuts made with cottage cheese and lemon zest, served fresh from the oil, with Smântâna – the local version of sour cream – and some berry jam or sauce.

“Google Google on the net, where is the best papanași you’ve met?” Continue reading “The Hunt for the Best Papanași in Cluj”

5 Towns in 6 Days

Previously, you found us leaving Magura. Thinking to make our first Workaway host happy, we ended up taking a couple of young rabbits from Vila Hermani. That didn’t turn out so well, but we didn’t know what a bumpy ride was expecting us this week… Continue reading “5 Towns in 6 Days”
